JIO expand its wing in e-commerce by launching JioMart
Reliance finally released its e-commerce platform JioMart across India. The main objective of this platform is to deliver grocery items across the country.
Initially JioMart was tried in Mumbai as a small project, then it expanded to Navi Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan and now it serves in 200 towns across the country. It is expected that JioMart is going to give a tough competition to Amazon, Flip kart and Big Basket who are already in the online grocery business.
As of now JioMart is available only on web (jiomart.com). JioMart will hopefully launch an app for Google Play store and Apple app store in coming days.
The site offers wide range of products like fruits, vegetables, FMCG products, dairy and bakery, home care and many more. The company claims that it offers 5% below MRP on all its grocery items. But if the order value is less than 750 Rs then it will charge a delivery amount of Rs 25 in your total amount. You can pay either by debit card, credit card or net banking.
“We offer you the convenience of shopping everything that you need for your home, be it fresh fruits & vegetables, rice, dals, oil, packaged food, dairy item, frozen, pet food, household cleaning items & personal care products from a single virtual store,” the JioMart page reads.
Reliance plans to sign up small kirana stores onto its networks.
