Lt Governor overrules AAP’s decisions

Lt Governor Anil Baijal overruled Aam Admi Party’s two controversial decisions.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had announced a few days ago that only symptomatic patients will be allowed to take the COVID tests and only those belonging to Delhi would be admitted into the hospitals due to shortage of beds.

But overruling the second decision, the Lt Governor said that all hospitals, nursing homes and clinics situated in the national capital of Delhi have to provide medical facilities to all Covid-19 patients without any discrimination of being resident or non-resident of Delhi.

He referred to Article 21 (right to life) of the constitution while announcing the judgment.

He also overruled the city government’s decision to only entertain symptomatic patients. He said that due to this decision the numbers might increase because the total number of infected would not be identified in time.
