Champions League Resumes
The remaining knockout fixtures of the Champions League will resume today. The League was called off due to the pandemic in March after the Liverpool and Atletico Madrid game.
The Champions League will resume with two mouthwatering fixtures tonight.
Juventus will face Olympic Lyon at the Allianz stadium in Turin. Juventus trail by a goal from their first match. The Old Lady have a slighter advantage due to their current form in the Serie A which they comfortably won while Lyon will be returning right after the break with no competitive matches under their belt as the French league was called off during the lockdown. There are high expectations from star man Cristiano Ronaldo, as he is the competition’s all-time leading goal scorer.
In the other match, Real Madrid will travel to Manchester City. City have a lead over Real from their first leg (2-1). Real will face City without their captain Sergio Ramos who picked up a red card in the last game and City will not have Benjamin Mendy. Zinedine Zidane’s men have already won the La Liga and also have Eden Hazard back to full fitness. The match is set to be a thriller.
The other two games will be played tomorrow between Chelsea and Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, which Bayern lead 3-0 on aggregate, and the other one between Barcelona and Napoli at the Camp Nou, the first match ended in a draw with both teams scoring one goal each.
