The holy month of Ramadan begins today
Ramadan is one of the holiest months for Muslims. Muslims across the world fast during daylight hours.
It is believed that in the month of Ramadan the Quran was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Muslim lunar calendar. In the month of this feast, Muslims wont drink or eat between dawn and sunset.
Ramadan is all about fasting and devoting your faith to Allah or God you believe in. Fasting is also seen as a way to learn patience and break bad habits.
How many days do you have to fast on Ramadan?
The lunar month lasts long between 29 to 30 days depending on the moon sighted. If the moon is not seen on 29th day of Ramadan then it will to 30th day of Ramadan.
With Eid al –Fitr celebration the holy month of Ramadan ends with celebration and happiness.
Is it necessary to fast everyone?
No, it’s not necessary to fast everyone.
Children, pregnant women, elderly people and who are ill don’t have to fast.
When does Ramadan ends this year?
This year Ramadan is expected to begin from 24th April and last between 29 to 30 days depending on when the moon is sighted.
