KTM 390 Rally Will Come Out?
A new single-cylinder motorbike has been seen near KTM's Mattighofen facility in Austria. There's no word on what this new model will be, but the photographs show a bike with the chassis and engine of the next-generation KTM 390 Duke, which has been photographed a few times in the last year. Because the bike has a more off-road oriented attitude than the KTM 390 Adventure 2022, the next-generation 390 range is expected to include a KTM 390 Rally model.
According to some sources, this bike may be presented as part of the new GasGas lineup rather than as a KTM. GasGas, a Spanish brand that was recently bought by KTM's parent firm Pierer Mobility, has just launched supermoto and enduro variants based on the KTM 690 chassis. The look is unmistakably similar to that of the KTM 450 Rally Factory, with the same stacked headlamp and higher front fender.
The 390 Rally prototype has a redesigned swingarm and shares the engine and frame with the next-generation 390 Duke. The suspension is from WP, and the wheels are a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear combo. The model looks to be much ahead of schedule in the manufacturing cycle, rather than being an experimental prototype, based on the photographs. Obviously, the bike will be manufactured in India, as are other KTM 390 models, but it's still early to tell when it will be released, in which regions, and if it will be released as a GasGas or KTM 390 Rally model.
