Given the fact that we live in a high-tech age, some people believe that public libraries should be limited to books only, without spending money on high-tech media. Nevertheless the other half of people believe that media helps to assimilate information much more effectively than books. I find the second opinion right for myself.

First of all, the 21 century is the time when teenagers and children are literally born with smartphones in their hands. So, more than half of them are used to receiving new information electronically , for instance through cartoons, games, and so on. Also many teenagers are usually lazy to read paper books and e-books are more comfortable for them. I believe that the availability of high technologies in libraries is a great opportunity for in-depth study of the material.

I slightly agree that not every library can pay for these technologies since of their price and other reasons. On the other hand,it seems to me that if libraries will properly allocate the resources allocated to them, they can buy good equipment at least in limited quantities. So, the opportunities that we can give us will help us in the future.

In conclusion, I can say that we must be prepared for changes in our time in favor of new technologies.
