Vladimir GoshkoderovÂ
Mechanical Design Engineer
Luxembourg office
I'm a design engineer, specializing in the development of various innovative mechanical solutions. My work consists of crafting prototypes, stands, devices, and other tools designed to improve existing scanners or even develop entirely new ones.
What I find truly rewarding about my profession is the constant opportunity to innovate. It allows me to witness my creations come to life, to physically interact with them, and to take a look at them from every conceivable angle. I am fortunate to work alongside a remarkable team of colleagues who are always available for advice or assistance, a fact that I greatly appreciate.
My current focus centers on developing a new prototype scanner, as well as a stand for precise positioning of several camera sensors on a scanner prototype. I'm genuinely excited about these projects and have high hopes for their potential impact.
Here are some of my current projects:
1. Active alignment stand for Sider II Prototype
2. Optics of Spider II Prototype
Perhaps it sounds cliché, but music plays a huge role in setting the tone for my workday. My playlist spans a wide spectrum of genres, from rap to rock. These tracks are more effective at getting me into the right work vibe than a cup of coffee.
Living in Montenegro has enriched my leisure time. My wife and I frequently indulge in seaside getaways, enjoy SAP board rides, and explore hiking trails. Our recent move has opened up opportunities for us to explore Europe, a region I've never had the chance to visit before.
As for entertainment recommendations, I'd suggest checking out "Disenchantment," a TV series from the creator of "The Simpsons." Additionally, the recently released series "Silo," where several people live in a silo underground with several regulations which they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface.
Both actually. I've always dreamed of having a dog, particularly a border collie. I'd adorn her with a red bandana and embark on long, enjoyable walks together.
2/ If you would like to pick up any famous person to have a drink in a bar, who would it be?
I'd be glad to join a conversation over a drink with all the luminaries who attended the Solvay Congress in 1927. This prestigious gathering featured luminaries like Max Planck, Ernest Rutherford, Maria Sklodowska-Curie, Henri Poincaré, and Albert Einstein. Given my earlier aspiration to become a nuclear physicist, such a company would be an absolute delight.
3/ If not working in logistics, what would you like to do?
Even if I weren't putting engineering as my primary career, I envision myself as an engineer in my garage. Perhaps I'd explore woodworking or some other hands-on creative endeavor.
