Evgeny Lykhin
VP Software Development
Luxembourg office
10 years in Artec 3D
I manage the software development team, around 65 people. All together we are responsible for 6 products: Artec Studio, Artec Cloud, software for Leo, Calibrator software, My.Artec/CRM and Mobile Application. We develop software architecture and user interfaces, integrate algorithms, and ensure quality of our software. I also oversee development and release processes for all products.
I'm very attracted to the fact that Artec 3D is made up of great people. We have a lot of fun working and communicating together. That's why I'm also in charge of recruiting people to the team, because it's important to me to get people who share our values and who are really good at what they do.
One day I realized that almost the entire material world around us was created with our products. Airbus, Apple, IKEA, Lego, Toyota, Ford... A huge number of companies use our technology to create their products every day. It makes me happy that we not only develop a good device in our niche, but also none of our competitors can come close to that level.
In addition to professionalism, what I value in people is that they should know how to communicate and negotiate with others. It is also important that the person does not stop there and wants to learn new things. A short tip for those who want to achieve more: become the best at what you do and develop a network of contacts. This will allow you to reach a completely different level of career development.
Delegate and trust are the basic principles of a successful manager. If you follow them, then everything in the company and the team will work quickly and clearly.
I moved from Russia to Japan, from Japan to Norway, and from Norway to Luxembourg to work for Artec 3D. The most important pluses of Luxembourg are the high level of infrastructure: roads, parks, ecology, places to go, health care, public services - it all works perfectly. And I would also like to mention that a lot is done for children here: good schools, where children learn 4 languages at once and a lot of educational stuff in general.
My main passion is music. I play the piano and my whole family is fond of music. Sometimes we even organize concerts at home. Recently I also fell in love with chess: I watched "The Queen's Gambit" and then I took an online course. Now I sometimes watch chess games on YouTube. It's a very beautiful and really fascinating game!
