Lifestyle of Muslims

Lifestyle-of-Muslim

The lifestyle of the Muslims living in the western world can be compared to that of the Christians in that the Muslims have a tradition of charity, modesty. They are known to donate money to charities, spread the teachings of the religion to others, are restrained from sex, alcohol, and tobacco use, and live by the Five Pillars of Islam (Quran and Sunnah). The teachings of the prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Muslim should always provide for his family, including his wife and children, so that they should not feel neglected and all their needs are met.

The difference in the Muslim's lifestyle:

There are many differences between the Muslims' lifestyles in the West and that of the traditional Muslims in the east and south. This is due to the cultural specificity and differences in lifestyle. The western human rights advocates for the secularism, pluralism, and inclusivity of all religions in society, while the traditionalists and cultural realists of Islam do not believe in anything.

Their motto is to implement their strict version of shariah, which includes the enforcement of strict rules of behavior, from a person as an individual to his whole family and community as a whole. These followers of the prophet are called Salafis. In contrast, the Islamic Prophet Muhammad (SAW) followers are known as hafizi or mubahir.

Western civilization:

Many people in Western civilization, including Muslims, believe that to practice their faith, spreading globally. There is no need to be completely free and without any social or personal boundaries. They feel that each human being is entitled to some measure of personal freedom. The concept of social and cultural specificity is also of no concern to them.

This might be the reason that the lives of the Muslims living in the West, under the tutelage of some religious teachers, follow a lifestyle that is entirely different from that of the Muslim in the east, who are almost bound by tradition, and some social norms but are mostly free to choose their mode of dressing, speak, behave and marry as they please.

Nation's civilizations:

The West has provided several opportunities for Muslims to live a better life. For instance, with its emphasis on the rule of law and strict codes of conduct, Islam has provided education to millions of people around the world. Simultaneously, the Muslim community has always been an active and vocal part of the nation's civilizations.

They have never allowed the presence of any non-believer in their midst and have always stood by their beliefs, principles, and rights. In the shape of various liberal and human rights organizations, the West has opened its arms to the spread of this tolerant faith.

Paradox:

However, the paradox is that while the West has offered countless opportunities to the Muslims, many of them have turned their back on the West and have embraced what they consider, in their terms, to be a lifestyle that goes against the traditions and values of Islam. The recent cases of the stoning of gay men in Nigeria, the 'honor' killing of a woman for adultery in Pakistan, and the rampant abuse of teenage girls in the Islamic countries raise the question of the lives of the younger generation who are growing up under the strict protection of the religion, and who would remain with the family and community, should they become suspicious of anything, even something as small and innocuous as a sip of alcohol. With all these issues being discussed, it becomes increasingly clear that Islamic values cannot compromise.

Human rights:

This is why the Muslim world's young people are trying to come out of the religious and cultural constraints that bind them. Many of them are also coming to understand that there can be no compromise with Islamic principles. The rise of human rights organizations, and the global spread of democracy, have become an ever-present concern for Muslims worldwide.

While the West has been coming to terms with the fact that there are limitations of human rights when it comes to the lives of the Muslims, the east, in particular Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, have remained immune from the advent of the western world's human rights standards and freedoms.
