The seating arrangement for your wedding!

Making a good table arrangement is quite a job and can be quite stressful . You obviously want everyone has a good time while eating, so it's quite a puzzle to get everyone at the table. Your distant great aunt has a fight with your uncle, so you want them to be as far away as possible from each other . But where do you put that old friend who doesn't know anyone else ? And who could get along well? We understand that you almost don't know where to start ! By following these five steps and tips from The Memory Factory  and Carefree Wedding Day you will soon have the perfect table arrangement .

The seating arrangement: a must for your wedding

During the wedding you will have to deal with two groups of people who don't know each other yet. As a wedding couple you naturally want to change that! That is why a good table arrangement can not be missing on your wedding day. If you want the guests to sit down mixed , you know that new contacts and nice conversations are guaranteed! In addition, you also want to take into account people who prefer not to sit next to each other , for example because they cannot get along well or because they are divorced.

Etiquette with the table arrangement

There are a number of official rules for manners, or etiquette , during the table arrangement . You could use these in the seating arrangement, but you are of course not obliged to do that! It can give you some guidance for placing the guests at the table, but especially look at what is most comfortable for the guests . During the wedding day, of course, all attention is paid to you as a wedding couple, which is why you can also sit in the middle of the table arrangement . According to the official etiquette , the bride sits to the left of the groom. The groom's father sits next to the brideand next to the groom is the bride 's mother. Opposite the bridal couple are the mother of the groom and the father of the bride. Next to the in-laws are the bridesmaids and bridesmaids and then the other family follows, ranked by age. Furthermore, it is intended that couples do not sit next to each other and that the ladies and gentlemen alternate at the table. A nice mix!

Step 1. Get the right materials at home

As has been said before: classifying your friends and family is a difficult puzzle . To make it as easy as possible for yourself, pick up  paper, cards, scissors, post-its, markers and pens to start organizing the table arrangement! If you know at which dream location your dinner is taking place, start by drawing the tables on a large sheet of paper.

Do you not want to miss the latest news for your wedding?

Then make a list of all your guests and then write them one by one on the different colors of post-it's (we will later tell you how you can best determine the colors). Once the name is on a post-it, mark the same person on the list. You won't forget anyone like that!

Step 2. Work with an (almost) definitive guest list

It is important that your guest list is final , or at least almost. You have got no sense a few weeks later the whole seating arrangement again to have to do! If you really can't wait to settle the table, but you want to be completely sure of your case, then you can also work with a list of substitutes , in case there are many last-minute cancellations . Do you want to know how to make the guest list ? We have  prepared a few handy tips for you, so that you can finish it in no time!

Step 3. Organize the guests in colors

Give each group a different color . For example, the parents receive a blue post-it, brothers and sisters (with partners) an orange , the elderly a yellow post-it, the cousins a pink and the friends a  green . It depends on you whether you want the same color at the same table , or whether you want to mix them correctly ! The person you want to have at your table , like your parents, of course all get the same color. The bridal couple can sit in the middle of the table, nice in the center, because this day is all about them. If you want to follow the official rules, the bride should sit to the left of the groom (the side of his heart). The groom's father sits next to the bride and the bride's mother sits next to the groom. Are you not so fond of etiquettes?

Will there be many children at your wedding? Then The Memory Factory  and Carefree Wedding Day advise you to have a special children 's table. Put ticks / crafts things down so that they do not get bored when they have to wait for the food, because children have less patience. In this way the parents can also enjoy dinner!

Finally, there will be a group of people who do not belong to a specific group . For example, friends of your parents, or a teacher who has meant a lot to both of you. You give all these people the same color and you can put them together at a table. Carefree Wedding Day is a good way  to place guests who don't know anyone with guests with similar interests . Or you choose to put them at the table with their 'age group' . In addition, The Memory Factory recommends that guests who have a conflict with each other should not, of course, be placed side by side, but far apart.

Step 4. Restructure

There are always last-minute changes . Fortunately you can solve that in two ways ! As mentioned earlier, you can use a list of replacements . These are the people you actually wanted to invite, but who couldn't because of a lack of space and budget . You can also choose to adjust the tables to the new situation.

Step 5. Adjust the tables to your taste

It is original to give the tables different themes. That can of course be in the atmosphere of your udaipur wedding planner, but also an original layout with special names, such as films, music , books or celebrities . You can't think of it that crazy! The nice thing is that you can also decorate the table with references to this topic.

Many people have beautiful memories of trips they have made and therefore choose the theme of travel, then you can indicate dinner tables with country names and show on a large world map in which country you have to join. Another way is to number the tables and give the guests a (travel) ticket with the  table number on it. On the tables themselves you can put name plates of the guests.
