How to find where is a website hosted

Finding the web host of a site is not a trivial task. To find who is hosting this site, you need to use third party tools that have large databases with web hosting companies and the ASIN networks and IP addresses they have assigned. This way, you can find the host.

However, those results are not always correct, because the website can be behind a CDN or another spoofing service.

This way you can only find the company that is doing the IP protection and not the real hosting company of the website.

You need to contact the CDN and ask them, but they are not likely to reveal the real host without court order.

None of these dns based suggestions will tell you the host with certainty. Many use cloudflare or other CDNs so if you do a dns lookup on those domain you will get a cloudflare ip. not the hosting companies ip. So the dns method only works for sites that host and have their nameservers with the same company. Also with many name registrars giving free private domain registration, whois is also not reliable.

I actually got confused because you should know who is hosting your website. It should be the service provider from whom you purchased the hosting. But if you used any agency for making your website or used any third party service provider then you can simply ask them about your hosting provider. If you still can;t find the information, please do a technology lookup on your website and you will find all the necessary information you need.
