Panhellenic Greek-Russian Friendship Movement: "We hope to embrace those who want something different"

The president of the Panhellenic Movement of Greek-Russian Friendship, Ioannis Kotsailidis, considers the Greek embargo on Russia unthinkable, thus sinking the relations between the two countries. The Movement is ready to run in the national elections when they are called.

The Panhellenic Movement of Greek-Russian Friendship, as its president, Ioannis Kotsailidis, told Sputnik , was founded on May 9, 2018, submitting the relevant application to the Supreme Court.

"We chose this date of submission to the Supreme Court to become an official party because this is the day that World War II ended. A day of joy for the whole world ", says Mr. Kotsailidis. The founding declaration of the movement was signed by 227 people, but since then many have been registered in the movement.

The thought of founding Pa.Ki.E.F. He was born, as he says, because in the political scene of the country there was a lack of "such a political space from the events of Greece" and he points out that they are ready to participate in the national elections, "whenever they take place after the summer" and in the next European elections.

" We hope to embrace all these people who want something different, " he said, adding that the country must now make a geopolitical shift.

Mr. Kotsailidis refers to the memoranda and the bankruptcy of the country and talks about its national independence and its economic independence.

" There is no national sovereignty and it is one of the reasons for founding the movement. "It is a loss for the Greek people that we do not see the geopolitical turn of Greece towards Russia, " he said characteristically.

Today, Greece's relations with Russia go through the European Union and, as Mr. Kotsailidis, " it is not possible for Greece to impose an embargo on Russia ."

" Do you know what an embargo is? It is a hostile attitude. This has to stop. To resume trade between the two countries. "Farmers will sell their products in Russia, " he said.

Mr. Kotsailidis also says that the visa for Russians who want to come to Greece on vacation should be abolished and points out that the ties that connect the two countries are important, such as Orthodoxy, but also the battles they have fought together. centuries.
