Girona Cathedral

Girona Cathedral, known as simply the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Girona is a spectacular Roman Catholic church located inside Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It's the main seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Girona. It was built in the eleventh century and has been a place of pilgrimage ever since then. It's a great way to see the history of Girona as it features a large number of attractions for visitors to see and enjoy.

Girona has lots of attractions that tourists can enjoy. Some of these include the Roman Theatre, Santa Trinit de San Bartolomeo and the Sant Joaquimada Palace which are all situated within walking distance of the cathedral. The most important attraction of Girona is of course Girona Airport as it connects the city to several other major cities across Spain. With so many transport links and accommodation options available in Girona you will find it easy to get around the city. There are two international airports in the city with both being situated nearby. You can travel to Andalucia and Malaga from Girona Airport as well as Cartagena and Seville from Barcelona.

If you have decided to travel to Girona then you may have realised that accommodation options are not the easiest. This may be especially true if you are travelling with your family as children often require more care when staying in a hotel than adults. The main problem with finding good hotels in Girona that your children enjoy is that they are all too close together with very little space between them. Your search for the best Girona hotels can become frustrating as they all seem to be in the same place.

Finding the best place for your children to stay can be difficult but if you look on the internet there are a number of websites that can help you. One such website is Travelocity where you can find a list of the top rated hotels in Girona alongside their rates and information. Another useful website that is aimed at families is Trip Advisor which provides a list of all the best places for children to stay. The accommodation costs do not vary too much between the sites, so you should be able to find a hotel in Girona that offers great value for money. All the sites are easy to use so even if you are not Spanish you should be able to find accommodation that meets your needs.

If you prefer a more traditional type of hotel then La Tramuntana is an excellent choice. It has beautiful old buildings and many tourists often rent a villa by the day to explore this part of Girona and the city surrounding area. The main attractions in Girona are a historic section of the city known as Las Ramblas, which has a range of art galleries, tapas bars and traditional cafes. You will also find some great attractions such as the Maritime Museum, the Girona Maritime Academy and Girona Castle which are a great tourist attraction. You can also sample local delicacies at one of the many restaurants in Girona and even try the local beer.

If you are more interested in history and culture than history and monuments, you will be happy in Girona because it has a number of museums and galleries. Some of the most popular museums in Girona include the House of Sacrifice and the Santa Maria de Gracia museums. You will also find the Girona Maritime Academy, which has a range of learning attractions for children and adults. The city also has many sporting centres including the famous Girona FC which plays football in the city every year. If you want to experience a bit of culture don't miss out on the local theater performances, which are often free and open to the public. You might also want to sample the food in Girona, as there are plenty of great restaurants with various international dishes available.

After seeing the cathedral of Girona in Game of Thrones, many people want to see it live. A guided tour of the historic quarter of Girona can be booked on the excurzilla or foxiepass website, and in order not to waste a minute on the trip, I used the car rental service on the bookingauto website.
