Fun Express
Intelligence, critical thinking, the ability to think on the fly, and the ability to quickly maneuver through 6 different rooms on 6 different floors… These were the qualities that helped our first-year students on the educational quest “Fun Express” that was held on the 21st of August by the teachers in the math department.
The aim was to test our students’ knowledge of the exact sciences: Algebra, Geometry, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science. Another purpose of the event is to unite the Lyceum students. The event taught them teamwork and cooperation with a competitive atmosphere, with the strongest of the participants being recognized in the end.
With 7 teams from each first-year group taking part, each of them was distinguishable by their own unique names, mottos, and emblems. ( listed below )
1RuG1- «7 deadly sins»
1RuG2- «Ньютоны»
1RuG3- «Хокимият»
1RuG4- «AMG»
1RuG5- «Орлы»
1RuG6- «Impulse theory»
1RuG7 - «Reactus»
Each team was issued their own map with their route, which they had to follow in strict order. For example, their first destination could have been room 33, the physics classroom, where they would go (without the use of elevators) and answer a single question given to them by the teacher of the corresponding subject. If the given answer was correct, the team would receive a special medal. With a total of 6 possible medals to obtain, each medal would give the team an additional 30 seconds during the final blitz-round.
A week after the competition was held, the results were announced with the podium consisting of:
1st place - 1RuG5
2nd place - 1RuG1
3rd place - 1RuG3
Aside from the 3 winners, honorable mentions went out to:
The savviest - 1RuG2
The funniest - 1RuG4
The friendliest - 1RuG6
And the most Creative - 1RuG7
On their journey, students had to answer questions such as: “What is the lightest metal on earth?” “Which bird has scales?” Do you think you would have what it takes to answer them?
We believe the "Fun Express" was more than successful. For the energetic and positive atmosphere, we should thank the organizers, the administration and, of course, the participants themselves!
