Results of the Institute of Legislative Problems and Parliamentary Research under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021
A press conference on the results of the activities of the Institute for Legislative Problems and Parliamentary Research under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021 was held on January 24 in the second building of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The conference was attended by Deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Judges of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court; staff of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education; the Academy of Public Administration; the Higher School of Judges; the Academy of the Prosecutor General's Office; Professors of the University of Public Security; the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; the University of World Economy and Diplomacy; Tashkent State Law University; members of the Youth Parliaments under the Oliy Majlis; staff of the Institute and members of the Institute's Young Lawyers Club and the media.
Director of the Institute of Legislative Problems, Professor F. Otakhanov in his report gave information about the work done by the Institute in 2021. In particular, he highlighted that during the reporting period, the Institute submitted to the chambers of the Oliy Majlis 32 scientific opinions on current laws and draft laws, 7 proposals on draft resolutions of the Oliy Majlis, 156 information and analytical information, 12 substantiated proposals on the draft Program of Measures; more than 100 youngsters have been trained by the UN Training Center on “Legislation”, “Parliamentary Oversight” and “Local Government”; the Institute has conducted public opinion polls on draft laws and current laws in Tashkent, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and studied the views and suggestions of the public.
