First furniture export center opening ceremony in Uzbekistan

The opening ceremony of the "Buyuk" furniture export center was held on June 7, 2022.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Voyitov, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS Mirvohid Azimov and Chairman of the CCI Davron Vahobov.

The purpose of the center is to unite furniture exporters of Uzbekistan, to cover foreign markets and create convenience for the population.

To compare and contrast, in the first two months of 2022, Uzbekistan sent goods worth $ 1.6 million US to 14 foreign countries. Exports of furniture products saw an increase by $ 1.1 million US compared to the same period last year.

In January-February 2022, Uzbekistan exported furniture mostly to the following countries:

• Kyrgyzstan – $ 824 000 US;
• Kazakhstan – $ 350 000 US;
• Tajikistan – $ 146 000 US;
• Russia – $ 107 000 US;
• India – $ 89 000 US;
• The USA – $ 20 000 US;
• South Korea – $ 13 000 US;
• Azerbaijan – $ 4,8 000 US;
• Turkmenistan – $ 1,5 000 US;
• Germany – $ 1,4 000 US.
