11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan
The 11th meeting of the intergovernmental Joint Commission on cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was held in Tashkent. The event was attended by the heads of the main ministries, departments, network associations, commercial banks and educational institutions, as well as diplomatic missions of the two countries.
At the meeting, the issues of further development of cooperation in investment, industrial, trade and economic, transport and logistics were considered.
As part of the realization of the Transport and logistics potential, it was noted that it is necessary to continue work on creating favorable conditions for increasing the volume of bilateral and transit transportation in the Trans-Caspian direction, as well as to accelerate work within the framework of the International Road Transport Agreement signed at the highest level in June of this year.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to cooperation in the framework of cultural and humanitarian relations, bilateral tourist flows and exchange of experience in the field of education, development of direct ties between the Universities of the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, a ceremony of signing a package of bilateral documents was held. In particular, a joint roadmap for deepening and expanding trade and Economic Cooperation and industrial cooperation, a memorandum of understanding between the Entrepreneurs Rights Protection bodies, a memorandum of cooperation between the Economic Zone Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Uzbekipaksanoat and Uztekstilsanoat associations gained legal force.
