The SCO Youth Cooperation Program for 2022-2023 has been approved
The 15th meeting of the Youth Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Tashkent on June 9-10.
Within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the SCO, high-level meetings were held with the participation of delegations led by the heads of relevant ministries and departments of the SCO member states, SCO secretariats and the Youth Council.
Today, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization occupies a worthy place among a number of influential international organizations and serves as an influential factor in security, stability and sustainable development in the region and globally.
For reference: in the vast territory of the SCO, which now has a population of more than 3.2 billion people, the number of young people is more than 55% of the population.
The purpose of the meeting was to increase the role of youth in the economic and social growth and development of the SCO member states, strengthen youth cooperation and raise it to a new level among the developing countries in the modern information age and globalization.
During the meeting in Tashkent, the parties got acquainted with the reports containing concrete facts and results on the wide range of opportunities and benefits provided to young people by the SCO member states. The sides also exchanged views on expanding scientific and technical cooperation in the field of youth, the creation of platforms for the exchange of experiences of young professionals, the development of their potential.
Following the Youth Council, the organization approved the SCO Youth Cooperation Program for 2022-2023.
