Azerbaijan hosted a meeting of OTS ICT ministers

As reported, a special meeting of the Ministers of information and communication technologies (ICT) of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was organized in Baku on May 26.

At the meeting, Mr. Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the OTS, emphasized the high potential of the Turkic region in the development of advanced technologies and the crucial role of joint cooperation in sharing best practices and experiences among member states and observers.

Mr. Amreyev touched upon the ministers on the activities and events of the OTS in the field of ICT, including thematic visits to Azerbaijan ("ASAN Service") and Kazakhstan ("Zerde Holding") as well as the Forum on "The role of innovation and technology development in the Turkic region" organized in Uzbekistan in 2021.

Secretary General proposed to establish a special technical group consisting of IT specialists to exchange comprehensive information on legislation and analysis of electronic signature implementation, as well as to implement a project to develop "Unified system of mobile devices registration" which would be applied to devices with IMEI.

At the end of the event, the heads of the Analysis and Coordination Center of the 4th Industrial Revolution under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the MEXT Technology Center of Turkey made a joint presentation on the activities of their centers and shared their views on establishing close cooperation on technology transformation, capacity building programs and the 4th industrial revolution among the member states.

During the ministerial meeting, parties took part in the opening ceremony of "TECHNOFEST Azerbaijan" aerospace engineering and technology festival and visited several pavilions.
