Development of Turkish-language interstate tourism

As previously reported, Samarkand hosted a forum with the participation of a working group of the delegation of the Organization of Turkic States on February 9, 2022.

At the meeting of the heads of member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States on November 12, 2021 in Istanbul, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M.Mirziyoyev developed a joint road map in the framework of the project "Tabarruk Ziyorat" (Holy Pilgrimage) in which initiatives such as handicraft exhibitions, ethno-sports competitions, as well as the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage were put forward through the status of "Kokand - Turkic World Tourism Capital in 2022".

According to the initiatives, a forum with the participation of the working group of the delegation of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Samarkand on February 9-10 this year.

The forum was attended by representatives of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Hungary.

The forum also encompassed a meeting on the development of cooperation in the field of tourism between member and observer states. The working group canvassed issues of joint holding of international fairs, exhibitions, festivals, national sports competitions, development of cooperation between international scientific centers in Uzbekistan and scientific centers in the member states of the organization.
