Third Forum of Heads of Regions of the SCO Member States

Hilton Tashkent City hosted the third Forum of Heads of Regions of the SCO Member States. Issues of strengthening relations in the fields of tourism, agriculture and in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were discussed.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev: “In the context of a significant aggravation of economic competition in the world, it is of particular importance to further combine our efforts to create high-tech industries based on the competitive advantages of our economies of the SCO countries to produce demanded products in order to replace imports from third countries and joint development of new markets”.

As the SCO Secretary General noted, “The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an agreement on good neighborliness and cooperation between the SCO member states. The SCO continues to deepen cooperation in various fields, paving a new path of development in many areas, making an important contribution to building a new type of international relations and, in general, to the destiny of mankind.”

Also, a proposal was put forward to expand cooperation in the following areas: presentations of the tourism potential of the regions with the participation of representatives of the tourism industry, consideration of the issue of organizing careful flights for tourists from the SCO member states. Proposals have been put forward to strengthen the cultural and humanitarian sphere, education and cinematography, museum and librarianship.

In addition, issues on the import and export of goods, the creation of joint ventures and trading houses were discussed.
