Post Malone (born July 4, 1995 in Syracuse, New York; actually Austin Richard Post) is an American R&B musician and producer.
Malone became known in the mid-2010s after the release of his debut single White Iverson. The song, which was awarded 14th place on the Billboard Hot 100 and later quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), brought Malone a record deal with Republic Records. He released his debut studio album Stoney in 2016, which debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200. The album with the top 10 hit Congratulations soon got certified double platinum.

Career
Post Malone was born in 1995 as the Austin Richard Post in Syracuse, New York. At the age of ten, he moved with his family to Grapevine, Texas, near Dallas. His father Rich Post listened to a lot of music and this led him to pick up the guitar himself and write his own songs. First he wanted to be a band musician, but then became a fan of the hip hop crew Terror Squad and joined a local crew as an MC. At the age of 15, Malone participated in an audition by the post-hardcore band Crown the Empire to become a guitarist, but this attempt failed. In high school, he played in a metalcore band.

In the 2010s, mail went to Los Angeles. There he started to publish his own music on the Internet. Post's father was an employee of the Dallas Cowboys and he was not only football-loving but also basketball-loving and wrote the play White Iverson alluding to NBA star Allen Iverson. At the beginning of 2015, he put the song online and achieved high numbers of hits. The label Republic became aware of him, signed him and released the song as a single in the same year. It hit the charts straight away, came in at number 14 on the US charts and number 3 on the US rap charts. Over three million times the song was bought or streamed accordingly and it was awarded 4 times platinum. With Go Flex he was able to follow a second single, which also made the charts and brought gold. He also became known beyond North America, particularly through his collaboration on the Deja Vu song with Justin Bieber, on whose tour he appeared as a supporting act, and on Kanye West's Song Fade. Both songs also hit the charts in the UK.
At the end of 2016, Post Malone released his debut album Stoney, with which he entered number 6 on the US album charts. On April 27, 2018, he released his second studio album Beerbongs & Bentleys. The tour for the new album started on October 28, 2018.
In summer 2019, the single Goodbyes with rapper Young Thug was released as the second single of his third album Hollywood’s Bleeding, which he released on September 6 of the same year. His third single circles was released a week before the album was released.
