Megashare, which offers movies and TV shows to download, informed its users yesterday, April 21, that it would close due to an error by the hosting company.

"Since there are problems with [our] video hosting company, Megashare info closes and will no longer update new movies in the future," says a message on its home page.

Last month, WIPR reported that several Internet service providers (ISPs) in the United Kingdom were instructed to block Megashare and three other websites that allegedly infringed copyright laws.

The British Supreme Court ordered BT, Sky, Virgin Media, O2, EE and TalkTalk to block access to the website, Viooz, Watch32 and Zmovie.

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) and FACT, a copyright association, joined the lawsuit. This was the last of a series of blocking orders from the United Kingdom against pirated websites.

According to Torrentfreak, a website that contains news about online file sharing, Megashare is currently available for Internet users who are not registered with the six UK Internet service providers, but will not add any additional content.

“The sudden decision is surprising and illogical for such a location. Megashare does not host videos itself, but uses files from third-party websites, ”says the website.
