Luxurious Classic Apartment in Cannes – A Ready Object

Our bureau, Civilly, has completed a unique project: a luxurious classic apartment in Cannes on the French Riviera. See details in Design and turnkey renovation in Cannes.

The clients were a couple owning a hotel chain in Cannes, with Ukrainian-Iranian roots. They approached us with the task of creating a design project, carrying out a turnkey renovation, and producing custom-made furniture. The visual concept is based on neo-classicism with Art Deco elements, which harmoniously integrates the historic building’s architecture with the interior design.

Style: Classicism provides the foundation: columns, moldings, symmetry; Neo-classicism introduces more balanced forms; Art Deco adds geometric patterns, mirrors, and accents. We considered high ceilings and a light color palette to make the space feel open and airy.

Layout: a spacious hallway, a kitchen-living room with two entrances, a master bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and an office, and a cozy children’s room. We modified the original layout, converting the former kitchen into a bedroom.

Materials/furniture: Wooden panels, doors, and furniture were custom-made for the project. The kitchen countertops are green Bidasar marble. Persian carpets are included as a cultural reference to the clients’ heritage.

The renovation included demolition, electrical and plumbing updates, furniture assembly, and strict author supervision — particularly important in summer in Cannes when noise restrictions apply. The implementation took almost a year.
