Summer Bass Fishing Tips
Warm weather will increase bass metabolism, which means that you will eat more frequently. This increases the chances of you putting a lure in front a hungry fish. It is worth fishing for bass in the summer to increase your chances at catching a big fish.
To survive, bass need food, shelter, oxygen.
Find locations in your target area that provide all three. These locations will be more likely to have bass living there or passing through, than simply throwing a lure in the middle of the lake.
- Low light days are best for shallow sides of lakes or reservoirs
- Bright days are best for the deep end of a reservoir or lake.
- Drop offs and ledges underwater
- You should look for shad spawning locations - shad are great for hungry bass
- The summer heat can have a greater impact on us than it does on fish. Get some long-sleeve UV resistant shirts to keep you safe from the sun.
- Summer night fishing is a great option. It is much cooler and produces big bass.
