Placing Your Chum For Fishing
Chumming for fish may seem easy to a novice angler. However, chumming for bass requires careful placement. A chum bucket is a great tool to get the chum right where the fish are. Be aware of the weather conditions as you fish. You should be aware of the weather conditions and make sure your bucket doesn't get tossed out if the water is rough.
You can also use large chunks of chum, instead of small ones. They will sink at a different rate due to their weight. You can also make your chum thicker by adding menhaden oil to the chum or making it thicker depending on how deep and what kind of water you are fishing in.
Once you have spread your chum, it will take a while for the bass to begin to attract, usually around 15 minutes.
