Fall Bass Fishing Tips
Fall is my favorite season to catch bass. It's not as hot as summer, but it is much more productive than winter. As the spawning of bait fish and shad stops, the behavior of bass also changes.
Fall turnover is caused by weather changes. It occurs when the water's top layer becomes colder than the water below it. The water temperature drops below the surface layer of the water and causes a change in the behavior of the bass. We need to modify your lure types and retrieve techniques.
- Fall is a season where depth is more important than any other. You can adjust your depth to find the best place for bass feeding. Most common depth range is 15-25 feet.
- Bass begin eating crawfish. Change your lure to match
- Keep the bait moving through the water column.
- You can change your retrieve technique to get bites, then you can stick with the same technique.
- You should look for weed cover. This provides protection and oxygen to the bass.
- Winter turns into fall as the top water layer becomes colder. Again, it is important to focus on depth
