BEGINNER FISHING TIPS

Catching fish can be a lot of fun; in fact, the catch is why most beginners learn how to fish. However, catching fish is a skill that can be learned over time. Below are a few beginner fishing tips to help increase those catches.

SAFETY FIRST

This is important for angler safety. Most anglers will remember things like sunscreen, rain gear and a first aid kit. However, beginners often forget other essentials like drinking water. Dramamine is also useful for boat trips. A great day of fishing is possible only if you are well hydrated and healthy.

BOAT FISHING TIPS and TRICKS

A properly rated PFD should always be worn on the water. In a boat, it may be more difficult to reel in your catch than on dry land. When reeling in your catch, make sure to leave at least one rod's worth of line. Then lift the line from the water. This will prevent your rod from reacting when the fish moves as you remove the hook. It is particularly useful when there is not enough space to place the rod.

FRESHWATER Vs. SALTWATER

Because of the lack of saltwater coastlines, few beginners are introduced to saltwater fishermanship from the beginning. As a result, freshwater lake fishing for beginners is a more common introduction to boat fishing for new anglers. Many SUP anglers enjoy lake fishing.
