Tickets for the BOX26 boxing session of the 2024 Olympics
The BOX26 boxing medal session will take place on 8 July 2024. Tickets for this event are already available for all boxing fans. The best seats, as always, will be taken first.
The session will include a semi-final women's bout in the women's 75kg weight class, as well as medal ceremonies for the women's 54kg and men's 51kg weight classes. Tickets for the boxing session BOX26 at the 2024 Olympics are available now.
Women's boxing was included in the Olympic Games programme in 2012. In 2020, the number of weight categories was increased from 4 to 5: 51, 57, 60, 69 and 75kg. In 2024, changes were made and now there are 6 categories. The new category is up to 54kg. It will be the first time a set of medals will be played in it.
At the Tokyo Olympics, Lauren Price of Great Britain won the 75kg category, Li Qian of China took silver and Nuschka Fontaine of the Netherlands took bronze.
The men's competition in the lightest weight category (up to 51kg) will be held for the 24th time this year. Galal Yafai from Great Britain won the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics, silver went to Carlo Paalam from the Philippines and bronze went to Ryomei Tanaka from Japan.
It should be reminded that for the third Olympics in a row men will compete without protective helmets, while for women a protective helmet remains a mandatory element of equipment.
The medal ceremony is the most exciting part of the Olympics. At the Summer Games, medals are traditionally awarded immediately after the competition. The winners take their places on the podium and the awards are presented to them by members of the International Olympic Committee. In addition to medals, the winners are usually presented with flowers and commemorative plaques.
The final chord of the award ceremony is the ceremonial raising of the flag. The flag is raised to the anthem of the gold medallist's country. These moments are the highest honour for the athletes, whose victory is always dedicated to their home country and fans.
