Staff Product Engineer, Backend (Go, Java)

What you will do
- Lead the architectural design and evolution of scalable backend systems using Go and distributed systems best practices.
- Develop and maintain reliable usage-based billing and metering solutions for accurate event tracking and revenue operations.
- Build integrations between internal platforms, payment providers (e.g., Stripe), cloud marketplaces, and reporting systems.
- Drive technical strategy for backend infrastructure focused on reliability, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
- Establish and promote engineering standards for code quality, testing, and OpenTelemetry-driven monitoring.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, architecture reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and scaling distributed backend systems using Go.
- Strong understanding of billing systems, metering infrastructure, or usage-based pricing models.
- Solid background in backend architecture, API design, and reliability engineering.
- Strong expertise in observability practices and OpenTelemetry concepts.
- Proven leadership and mentorship experience in high-performing engineering teams.
- Must be based in Europe to align with flexible working arrangements.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Java and multi-language backend ecosystems.
- Experience integrating with Stripe or similar financial platforms.
