Interview with a foreigner🌺
Hey there!
We decided to talk with a foreigner, but non-native English speaker, to show you the real practical value of knowing different languages!✨😊
Today we are talking with our good friend — Clara Hernandez. Yeah, her family name sounds more like Spanish, but she is originally from France. This girl is gorgeous as a person, she knows more than 2 languages, likes to travel and eat cheese. Let's ask her some questions! 🤗
Question: Hey! Introduce yourself, please! What's your name? Where are you from? Answer: Hi! I'm Clara, I'm 22 y.o. and I live in France, in Lyon.
Q: When and how did you start to learn English?
A: I started learning English when I was 6 years old at school. We all did. I mean it's a very common practice to start learning languages in Primary School but the most important thing — never stop learning.
Q: How often do you practice your English?
A: Every day. I'm a student so most of my classes are in English now. I find it pretty useful since it's kind of hard to communicate in English with family and French friends. We usually speak only French. But I need to tell you, my biggest practice was during my exchange semester in Norway in 2018.
Q: Did English help you in your life? How?
A: Yes. Well, firstly, as I have already mentioned, I have English classes. I simply couldn't study without knowing English. Secondly, English is one of the main requirements for getting a good job in an international company. I have a job now and English helped me a lot to get it.
Q: Do you know other languages? If yes, tell us how did you learn them.
A: I know a little bit of Italian that I learned at school. I practice it with the Italian part of my family.
Q: What motivates you to learn the language(s)?
A: I adore traveling. I want to meet new people and be able to communicate with them! Even if we're not allowed to travel now, I can still improve my English for future trips!
Q: What can you suggest to people who have just started learning a foreign language?
A: I can advise people to practice more. Contact with foreign people and speak with them the language you're learning. It is gonna be hard, maybe sometimes confusing, but It is important not to give up even if it seems difficult at first.
That's it for today! 🥰
