Myth Busters LH Canada🇨🇦

Hi! What's up?🎉

Let's go! 🎇

Myth: It is always cold and there’s always much snow in Canada.
Truth: False, during summer we have really good weather, the temperature can go to 34 Celsius 🤩

Myth: Canadians speak English.
Truth: True, most of the Canadian population speaks English and a small fraction speaks French.

Myth: All Canadians give honor to the Queen of Great Britain.
Truth: I would say false, because we don’t really give allegiance to the queen of Great Britain, but since we are in the common wealth and we have a constitutional federal monarchy, the queen of Great Britain is considered as the highest power in Canada (but it's more true just on paper than in reality. She doesn't control Canada 😅)

Myth: There are a lot of immigrants in Canada.
Truth: True, Canada has always been a place where immigrants were welcomed, and where we helped them integrate the Canadian society! The capital of Ontario, which is Toronto, is considered one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan city in the world 😊 Multiculturalism is part of the deep identity of Canada.

Myth: Canadians eat everything with maple syrup.
Truth: False. We don’t add maple syrup in everything 😂 but it’s true that a lot of people use maple syrup as a substitute to sugar in many recipes 🤤
The only exception that I would know is when we go to the sugar shack, there we put maple syrup on everything 😂

Myth: Canadians, same as Americans, are not into traveling abroad.
Truth: False, Canadians love to travel and I think that in many case it’s linked to our multicultural culture and our openness! Also, in many cases, we travel to escape the cold weather during winter.

Myth: The major part of Canada is taken by mountains & lakes.
Truth: True! I think that 90% of the Canadian population lives within 150 miles of the US border, which means that the rest of the country is unoccupied and is mostly lakes and mountains. Fun fact, Canada has more lakes than any other country in the world, I think 🤩

Myth: Canadians in general are very alike with Americans.
Truth: False! Canadians are so different than the Americans! It’s often considered as insult, as Canadian, to be compared with Americans 😂 We are different on many elements: we are so more welcoming, more polite, more open-minded; a majority of Canadian are for environmental reforms, the government of Canada do a lot to help the poor, we have a free health system and a lot more things 😅

Вау! Честно говоря, мы много узнали интересного о канадцах, и в итоге оказалось, что больше половины стереотипов об этой стране оказались неправдой. А вам была полезна статья?

Спасибо, что остаетесь с нами,
ваша LH team💕
