Plus Messenger & TELEGRAM

Telegram has server and client parts.

Client part of Telegram is an app, which is installed on users' device.

Server part consists on Telegram company computers which are located in worldwide data centers.

All interactions between telegram users go through servers. Here is what happens when you send message to your collocutor:

  1. Your app sends message to Telegram Server.
  2. Telegram server searches for message recipient and sends message to his app.

You can use different apps for connecting to Telegram servers: for example, you can use Plus Messenger while your collocutor uses official Telegram app.

Server part

Server part ("Telegram platform") is all computers of Telegram company which are located in different data centers worldwide. These servers provide basic Telegram features: user searching, creation of groups and channels, sending private and public messages, secret chats etc.

Servers also make users following restrictions and limits: how many channels can you subscribe to, how long message can you send, which groups can you join, can you send messages to unmutual contacts etc.

Client part (e.g. Plus Messenger)

Client part is an app, which is installed on your device (phone or PC). It provides you the ways to use Telegram features (see "Servers part"): shows your contacts and chats, allows to read and send messages, join groups, subscribe to channels, show you search results etc.

Your app has to connect to Telegram servers in order to provide all these features to you: all interactions between telegram users go through servers.

So Plus Messenger is one of many apps which can be installed on your device to give you access to Telegram features. If some kind of interaction is impossible (or restricted) to you, Plus Messenger can't provide it: Telegram servers drive it.

No any Plus Messenger servers

Please note: there are no any "Plus Messenger servers". Plus Messenger does not store any data on any servers: it can just send common Telegram data of your account to Telegram servers. That is why it is impossible, for example, to implement some kind of "statuses" or "stories" features in Plus Messenger until Telegram implements it: there is no place to store Plus stories.
