Instructions and FAQ

Key activation:

1. Go to our site
2. Log in to the system
3. Insert the received code in the field for gift codes and click "Activate". The subscription will be charged automatically!

Requirements for the application:

1. Dota 2 should be completely closed. The program will not be able to install mods if the game is running
2. Steam must be running and you must be logged in to your account (this is necessary to verify your subscription)
3. Do not rename the file! It must be named strictly ItemSettings.exe, otherwise the program will issue an error and close.

Instructions for use:

1. Launching
   Run the ItemSettings.exe file (recommended on behalf of the Administrator so that the program has rights to write game files). At the first launch, the program can download the necessary components (about 1-2 minutes).
2. Linking an account (Only for the first time) If your computer (HWID) is not yet connected to the subscription, the program will issue a warning and automatically open our website page in the browser:
   - Log in to the site
   - Confirm the pairing of your PC
   - Close the program and run ItemSettings.exe again
3. Selection of items After successful login, the program interface will open in front of you. Here you can choose:
   - Sets and skins for heroes (Skin Changer)
   - Weather, landscapes, creeps and towers
   - Couriers, wardens, commentators and much more
4. Installing mods After you have selected all the items you want, click the "Create VPK" button in the interface. The program will start assembling the VPK file (wait for a message about successful installation), the process may take some time depending on the power of the PC. Then click "Install VPK" after the inscription "VPK Created" appears.
5. Launching the game Done! Now you can start Dota 2 and enjoy the selected skins.

Small problems

«Access denied» or «No active subscription» error:
Make sure you are logged in and your subscription is active.

«Failed to get your Steam ID» error:
Make sure the Steam client is running on your PC and you are logged in to your profile.

White screen or WebView2 error: Make sure that your antivirus or Windows Defender does not block the operation of the program (it is better to add a folder with the program to exceptions).

Mods did not appear in the game:
Make sure you close Dota 2 before clicking «Apply».

Rare problems

«ItemsFile Empty» error

Step 1. Copy the path to the game
Open Steam and find Dota 2 in the list of games.
Right-click on it and select «Properties...».
Go to the «Installed files» section and click the «Browse» button.
The folder with the game (dota 2 beta) will automatically open. Click on the address bar at the top of the window and copy the full path to this folder.

Step 2. Specify the path to the program
Open the folder where your program ItemSettings.exe is located.
Create a normal text document next to it and call it DotaCategory.txt
Open this file, paste the copied path to the game there and save the changes.

Step 3. Restart and build
Close the program completely. To do this, find its icon in the tree (in the lower right corner of the screen, near the language), right-click and close the application.
Run the program again and click «Collect VPK» again.

Update error: "0% download" or "Failed to download file"

If when you start the program, the update hangs at 0% or gives a download error, it means that your Internet provider or local network settings are blocking the connection to our updated servers.

How to fix it:
Download Cloudflare WARP: Go to the official site and download the installer for Windows

Activate the protection: Install the program, run it, go through simple registration (if required) and press the activation button (switch to the Connected position).

Repeat the request: After WARP has been successfully activated, restart our program and enter the application again. Now the connection will be stable, and the blocks will be removed.
