The Point of Partnerships

Step 1: What do people think a partnership is? As previously mentioned, partnerships are typically depicted as a lazy form of growing your server or atleast aiming to. From my own experience, partnerships are a hard way to gain members as partner channels are typically known to be flooded with a load of other partnerships. I beg that you do not use Welcome DMs to bombard a user with a load of paid servers as it may lead to members leaving as they feel like you are pushing products into their faces.

Step 2: What do I think a partnership is? There are two primary concepts that come to mind when I hear the term "partnership": collaboration & communication. Although, this isn't the case anymore. I can tell you right now that partnerships will not increase the value of your server. Every owner wants individuals to discover their server and see an increase in server-growth and retention. You should ensure that your server will benefit from any partnerships with other servers if you choose to do so. Your server could possibly benefit if you create shared-events, reward joins with perks and much more. Don't fear to move forward with the collaboration if it has a beneficial goal. So... would I recommend having a partnership channel? I do not recommend it, unless it has a goal for the future.
