Instructions on how to use the article editor on the Modern Warships website.

1. You need to go to the website  https://modernwarships.com/admin

2. All articles can be found in the NEWS section.

3. On the first page (yellow arrow) you see the articles available for viewing by all. On the last pages (blue arrow) you see hidden articles.
Articles hidden to view appear crossed out.

Let's say you need to translate the last article, you find it and click on the version which localization you need. (red arrow)

The active localization you are working with is grayed out in the upper right corner of the article in the editor.

The article is all made up of text blocks or image blocks.
The text block window has highlighting, fonts, and everything for editing text.
Your task is to translate the text, preserving fonts, headings, transitions to the next line as in the English localization.

The translation should start with:

1) title

2) the article itself, text blocks inside the article

3) preview block for the article at the end of the article
When saving, do not check the “enabled” and “featured” boxes.

Blocks with images do not need to be changed, we work only with text blocks.

At the end of the article, don't forget to change the text block for the article preview. Then click SAVE. When saving, do not check the “enabled” and “featured” boxes.

At the end of your work, after saving your article you can check how it looks by clicking on the following link.

Weak points of the site editor and how to deal with them.

  1. It is better to do the translation directly in the editor window, but if you insert text into the editor, the whole article may be reset to null. This bug happens especially when you want to paste formatted text.

This is solved by copying and pasting the text into a buffer space, such as Notepad, or any other, and then copying the text from the buffer space and transferring it to the site editor. In this case, the formatting is removed and the text is transferred without the bug and without resetting the article.
  2. For the reason that a site editor bug can reset your work to nothing, you should save your progress at the bottom of the page as often as possible.
  3. There is also a key combination that can be triggered without you wanting it to.
CTRL + click on a block of text This combination can copy a block of text and you'll have two or three blocks instead of one.
This is a minor problem, you just need to look carefully to see if the blocks are repeating, and if necessary, delete one.

You can delete a block of text by clicking on it and then on the button with the red cart (see screenshot).
