Nissan Note e-Power Nismo S landed in Nihon
Nearly two years ago, in December 2016, Nissan decided to give one of its best-selling models the factory fit treatment——Nissan Note, the protagonist of today's article.
It introduced the Note e-Power Nismo, an improved version of the mini MPV, to the Japanese market. At the same time, the automaker also announced an even more capable version of the model, the Nismo S.
A new interpretation of this S version went on sale Monday in Japan, bringing a 25% power increase to the range, compared to the normal Nismo model. More precisely, the Note e-Power Nismo S develops 134 hp and 320 Nm of torque.
In addition, a special adjustment has been made for the inverter and vehicle control module, the electrical output has been increased, and the reduction control has been improved.
Overall, the look of the new version retains most of the elements used in the non-S variant, including custom body parts and interior details. It also retains some structural improvements and custom suspension. In addition to the increased power, the S version also brings new LED headlights.
The launch of this new variant of the Note further reinforces the attractiveness of the model in the Japanese market. Locally, the Note is the best-selling car in the first six months of 2018, due to its "exciting acceleration and quiet," says the Japanese automaker.
Adding various flavors of Nismo to the lineup has been in line with Nissan's policy since 2013, when it decided to give some of its production cars high-performance versions. Currently, note aside, the cars that Nismo is written on include the Juke, Sentra, Patrol, Serena, and even the electric Leaf.
As for e-Power, the name represents Nissan's approach to hybrid vehicles. Currently implemented in the Note and Serena, it results in electric motors driving the wheels, leaving the gasoline engine charged only with the car's battery charge.
