Beginners Guide to World of Warcraft: 2.1 Selecting a Class

Welcome back, guys! Today we will be picking up from where we left off in the previous article. The last class discussed was the Monk and today we will be taking a closer look at Paladin

Now, these classes require prior knowledge about game mechanics, especially because they are of a higher skill cap. They can fit into more than one key role. If you join a party as a healer or support, you have a specific responsibility. If anything were to happen to you, the whole raid will fall apart. So make sure to practice with them before going out into the world.

Paladin

paladins are the warriors of light. They have heavy armor, making them quite the tanky characters. However, they dabble in all the specs, heal, damage and tank.

The Protect spec enables them to wield a shield to protect them and their allies.

The Holy spec is a complete heal spec giving them access to a plethora of heal spells. Their ability to wear plate armor makes them some of the toughest characters in the game.

The Retribution is the damage spec. You can wield a two-handed sword and use your spells to smite you, enemies, while giving minor buffs to your teammate as well.

Priest

The Priest doesn’t have any tanking spec, but they specialize in healing and damage.

The Holy spec allows gives them access to some great single target and AOE heals. They are the go-to class when it comes to healing and lacks any other ability whatsoever.

The Discipline spec focuses on damage prevention. They also have powerful absorb shields to protect allies from damage and the way they heal is by inflicting damage at the same time. The perfect class for a hybrid build.

The Shadow spec is the damage variant of the priest class. They have access to single target burst spells which can burn down enemies in quick succession. A fun class to play with a high skill cap. This is the best class for earning WoW Classic Gold, because of demand of good priest players. But, if you prefer to play other class, you can always buy classic wow gold from other players.

Rogue

Rogue is the thief archetype that you find in other RPG games and all of their specs dabble damage abilities.

The Subtlety spec uses stealth mechanic to sneak up on enemies and kill them before they know what hit them.

The Outlaw spec is a more upfront fighting style character. You still have access to stealth mechanics but also use swords and pistols to get an advantage in a fight.

The Assassination spec uses a dual dagger setup with poison effects that focus on more of a slow-killing method.

Shaman

Shaman focuses on mastering the elements of the world and conjuring powerful elementals to aid you at the times of battle.

The Restoration spec is for healing and they are decent at it. they have access to both single target and AOE heal spells and they are bit tankier since they can wear armor as well.

The Enhancement spec buffs your weapons and abilities to dish out more damage and is a more in your face kind of combat style.

The Elemental spec is a ranged caster that has access to lightning, fire, earth and frost spells are at your disposal.

That’s all for today. Stay tuned for the remaining 4 classes in our next guide!
