How to Recover a Forgotten Google Password Online security experts tell us it's important to change passwords frequently. Doing so can make it harder for hackers to access personal accounts. But, it can also make it harder for you to get into those accounts because you're more likely to forget each new password.
However, most services have ways to access your account even when your password slips your mind. That includes Google, which guides you through a validation process to set a new password and regain access to your account.
Follow these steps to reset your forgotten Google password and recover access to your account.
First, make sure you either
(1) have a secondary email address specified for your Google account or
(2) haven't logged into your Google account for five days.
On the Google login screen select "forgot password?".
On the Google Account recovery screen, type your full Google email address if prompted to do so. Select Next.
Google will now ask a number of questions to try to establish you as the owner of the account.
Once you've established yourself as your account's owner using the steps above, Google will log you into the account. If, for security reasons, you want to change google password, follow the Change password link.
