UAE in the top ten countries in the Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024
Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024 highlighted the growing influence of the United Arab Emirates on the international stage, confirming its position among the top ten nations with high levels of soft power. The UAE stands out as the sole representative of the GCC on this prestigious list, demonstrating its ability to make a positive impact on the global stage.
The index was developed based on an extensive survey of over 170,000 people from 193 UN member states. The analysis included 55 core and supporting criteria assessing both public opinion and countries' capacity for positive transformation. The key aspects of the assessment include investment attractiveness, quality of products and services, living standards and others.
Among the UAE's most important achievements:
- 1st place in the "Strong and Stable Economy" category, thanks to its reduced dependence on oil and economic diversification, including the development of tourism, technology, renewable energy and financial services.
- 3rd place in the "Future Growth Potential" category, emphasizing the Emirates' commitment to investment in key sectors and technological development.
- 3rd place in the "Generosity" category, reflecting the UAE's efforts in international aid and humanitarian initiatives.
- 8th place in "Influence in Diplomatic Circles": the UAE engages effectively with international organizations, thereby contributing positively to global peace and stability.
- 8th place in "Leader in Technology and Innovation" due to investments in education, research, financial technology, AI and advanced space industries.
- 9th place in the "Safe and Secure" category, emphasizing the country's high standard of living.
- 9th place in the "Sustainable Cities and Transport" category, reflecting the country's continued commitment to sustainable development.
- 10th place in the "Internationally Admired Leaders" indicator, demonstrating the UAE's success in foreign policy and diplomatic relations with countries around the world.
- 10th place for the Global Audience Engagement indicator, reflecting the UAE's strong presence in the global media and its success in building a positive international image of the country.
- 10th place for "Business and Trade Image", reflecting the UAE's strong position on the world stage.
These results confirm not only the UAE's economic success, but also its significance as an important player in international affairs. Over the past three years, the value of the country's national brand has grown from $700 billion to $1 trillion, making it the most valuable in the Middle East region.
