Anxious thoughtsÂ
Breaking news: you have anxious thoughts in your head and you can get rid of them without taking any pills.
One of the accumulated fatigue (stress) markers is troubling thoughts that don’t have to follow you everywhere. Usually they arise in the following situations:
As a reaction to unpleasant events you’ve already experienced: something went wrong in a project, and your client is unhappy; your employees screwed up their tasks and you lost a contract; your boss came to work in a bad mood and decided to make a scandal.
As anticipation of the future problems: an important presentation tomorrow; you have to pay salaries to your employees soon, but you don’t have any money; you need to finish a project on time, which is obviously not going to happen with this tight schedule.
So now you can’t start your next task, because your day is ruined, or even worse: you are in bed, and you cannot doze off. These thoughts crawl into your head, the situations are played on repeat, then they switch to the next ones, it just doesn’t stop, then you see that it is already 3 in the morning, and you need to wake up at 7. You are most certainly not going to have your beauty sleep, and tomorrow you will be in a bad-bad place.
To cut a long story short, it is rather dreadful.
To solve this crazy issue of troubling thoughts, Neiry Mind Tracker has developed a special resilience training. It helps to learn how to control rumination (recurring anxious thoughts) and ditch them when you need to (e.g., before going to bed).
The training is based on the biofeedback alpha training method (you can learn more about it in this scientific article). In a nutshell, this is how cosmonauts are trained not to stress out and how specialists help stroke survivors to restore.
The course comprises 25 training sessions, 6 minutes each.
What happens: you put on your headband or headphones, start the training, and close your eyes. And the forest embraces you (well, the forest sounds, to be fair).
Now you are to eliminate any thoughts from your head, i.e., unload your brain completely. If you fail to do it (take our word, at first you will fail), forest sounds will be mixed with unpleasant city noises. Your task is to find your own way to ditch the troubling thoughts and try to listen to the forest sounds for as long as you can, out of these 6 minutes.
Every next lesson will adapt to your progress, so that it will be a bit harder to do the training this time. By lesson 25 you will learn how to get rid of anxious thoughts automatically, but you will see the progress much earlier: your troubling thoughts will go away when you want, and it will be harder to knock you down with an unexpected bad situation.
And by the way, it is not an old wives’ tale, it is a goddamn science!
