In April 2021, ConsenSys launched this version as a MetaMask Institutional (MMI) focused on institutional governance. In January 2022, the MMI supported multi-chain storage, extending to all EVM-compliant layer 2 networks such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and others. In January 2023, MMI expanded its support for liquid stakes via the Rocket Pool and Lido Finance platforms.
