Gloria Swanson, the Silent Beauty.

I seriously think there is too much talking around lately and this is why I am in the mood for sharing a couple of pics from a mythic silent movie dated 1928 - "SADIE THOMPSON" directed by Raoul Walsh. The amazing femme fatale in the photographs is Gloria Swanson, one of those forgotten stars that are still shining through.

Gloria is stunning, no doubt about it.
But my applause goes to her also because she represents a huge quantity of talented and smart women in history who always remained in the shade of their great and famous male collaborators. She made miracles for this movie to be created as perfectly as we see it on the screen… Fighting the censors to get it produced, cowriting the script, helping finish the editing when Walsh had to leave for another project, and, above all, giving a sensational performance in the title role.

Sadie Thompson is the evergreen story of a woman who must fight her way through… with a lot of courage and also very often - in silence.

Shhhhh, I have said enough for tonight,

sweet dreams to all cinema lovers đź“˝
