Midnight Rubens.

Jupiter and Callisto

Since sleeping at midnight is obviously not for us crazy art lovers, why not then make ourselves a gift we deserve and go through this sublime collection of my absolute favorites by Peter Paul Rubens. It’s quite an objective taste of mine, but I hope you enjoy the selection)

And, it’s highly recommended not to forget that Rubens was one of the most passionate art collectors of his time….AND regularly made visits to Italy for adding to his sizable collection of Roman portraits, reliefs and scripture. What I am trying to say is, why shouldn’t we follow his noble example and plan a trip or two just to check if the shops of Via Marguta are still there? 🤓

Anyway, no more small talk for tonight, and let's let Peter Paul kindly speak for himself.

Venus at a Mirror
The Four Rivers of Paradise
The Fall of Man
Venus, Cupid, Bacchus and Ceres
Three Graces
Ixion, King of the Lapiths, deceived by Juno, who he wished to seduce
