Any person operating or developing an industry or process that discharges effluent/emits contaminants into any water supply or pollutes the air or water must obtain the Board's permission. Delegation of powers to the sub-Regional Officer/Regional Officer/member secretary and committee is done to expedite the processing of authorization/consent applications. Any individual wishing to obtain the Board's approval for the establishment of any industry must submit an application with supporting documentation to the appropriate approving authority, which is determined by the industry's category and expenditure.
