How to play Hamster Gamedev
🎯 What’s the goal of the game?
A: The main goal is to feel like the boss of your own game development studio! Hire the best team, compete with other devs, and release awesome games.
On the main screen, your current project is being developed. Your Assistants help you launch projects, but you can switch at any time.
Once a project is ready for release, you’ll collect profit from it. You earn coins and reputation after launching a game. Reputation levels up your company, and coins let you upgrade your Office, hire staff, and invest in marketing.
Q: What kind of jobs do hamsters have?
A: Your studio is full of real game dev pros! Each hamster plays a key role:
Programmer – turns ideas into a working game. They write code for mechanics, enemies, and levels. Affects the Mechanics stat.
Artist – creates visuals: characters, environments, UI, and effects. Affects the Art stat.
Game Designer – the brain behind the game! Designs mechanics, balance, and level flow. Affects the Design stat.
Q: What is Fun and how does it work?
A: Fun is a key success metric for your game and boosts both income and reputation. Every genre has a minimum required Fun level you must reach to get bonus rewards.
During development, each hamster adds their Fun stat to the project. Level up your hamsters’ Fun using Gamepads to unlock new genres. Don’t worry about spending Gamepads – you get them back when you fire a hamster.

A: Every hamster has their own favorite setting! If a hamster is working on a game they love, they get extra motivated and:
Try to match hamsters with similar perks to boost team synergy!
You can check all team perks in the Stats window.
Note: a hamster’s perk only affects themselves, not the whole team.
Q: Why should I level up my profile?
A: Leveling up unlocks new opportunities: more profitable genres, cool new settings, bigger team size, and awesome rewards. Some rewards may be seriously valuable!

A: As you release games, your reputation grows, and so does your level. The bigger the project, the better the rewards!
Q: How do I make my hamsters stronger?
A: Want faster, better, more Fun-producing hamsters? Time to level them up!
Hamsters gain experience with every game they work on — the more effort they contribute, the more XP they get. Want a faster boost? Use Boosters to speed up their growth.
Q: Where can I get more Gamepads?
A: Without Gamepads, your hamsters might accidentally create a hay simulator instead of a hit! 😅
Q: Should I tap the hamster during development?
A: Absolutely! Tapping helps your hamsters work faster! Each tap gives extra progress and Fun points during development.
There’s a tap limit before the button takes a 10-hour break — gotta let it rest before your finger falls off!
And now you are able to upgrade your Tapper – more taps, more power, better rewards.
Q: What’s the benefit of the advanced PM?
A: Laura’s the best! She knows your team inside out: available genres, settings, team synergy, and perks. That means maximum efficiency and lightning-fast development.
Q: How can I upgrade my office?
A: Your office has departments like Development and Marketing.
Development upgrades = more productive hamsters & faster games.
Marketing upgrades = bigger sales & more profit.
Q: How do I hire more hamsters?
A: Once you reach certain levels, you can expand your team — just make sure there’s an empty workstation first!
You’ll choose from a few candidates. Each hamster has their own:
Didn’t find the perfect hire? The list refreshes daily, or you can use a Resume item to refresh it instantly. Your PM will also help you pick the best fit!
Q: What is BitQuest and how does it work?
A: BitQuest is a great way to earn Gamepads by exploring other games. Each game has special codes you enter in the CEO Room.
You can collect up to 4 codes per game per day. Try more games = get more Gamepads = grow your studio faster!
A: Gold is a premium resource used to buy exclusive items, upgrade your office, unlock Super PMs, and more.
To buy Gold, you’ll need Telegram Stars — exchange them in the Shop.
Q: How does the daily cipher work?
A: Once per day, a secret code word appears. Use Morse code to decode it:

A: There’s a new combo every day that gives you bonus gifts!

A: Your hamsters don’t sleep! They keep working for up to 3 hours after you leave.
You can extend this to 9 hours — and once maxed, your studio becomes a non-stop game-making machine!
