Research Associate / Бизнес-школа СКОЛКОВО

Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO and The New Economic School (NES) seek tworesearch associates / research fellows to work onresearch projectsin the fields of machine learning, management science, operations research, and quantitative marketing and economics. The successful candidates will work under the supervision of top Russian and foreign faculty on conducting theoretical and data-driven research targeted for publication in the world’s leading business academic journals. Research topics include but are not limited to strategic consumer behavior, dynamic pricing, behavioral operations, consumer preference modeling and elicitation, consumer search, revenue management. Successful candidates will also obtain exposure to teaching quantitative business and economic disciplines, and potentially transition to assistant professor / lecturer roles (at SKOLKOVO, NES, or elsewhere).

Responsibility:

  • Conduct theoretical and data-driven analyses of mathematical models of different business processes, propose improvements to these models, and/or alternative approaches to model the underlying processes;
  • Conduct literature reviews;
  • Contribute and potentially co-author scholarly publications targeting top academic journals;
  • Be involved in the research grant application process and preparing granting/funding progress reports;
  • Prepare teaching materials, translate, proof-read / proof-solve, etc.;
  • Grade students’ homework and provide other feedback on students’ work;
  • Conduct tutorials, workshops and assist with students’ work (e.g., help implement projects).

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (master’s degree or above from an accredited institution; PhD preferred) majoring in economics, statistics, computer science and related fields;
  • Work experience related to the field of management science, operations research, and quantitative marketing and economics;
  • Strong quantitative background including calculus, probability and statistics, optimization (convex, dynamic, linear), game theory, data science and machine learning, and coding and software skills;
  • Strong communication skills in verbal and written formats in English and Russian (C1-C2);
  • Proficiency with specialized software for algebraic and data-driven analyses.
