Financial Java Software Developer

About us:

We are a financial technology startup aiming to build the next generation of institutional-grade software for trading firms. Our team has years of experience in High-Frequency Trading, with a core focus on Low Latency Software and Quantitative Research.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate is a Software Developer with a few years of experience and a strong command of Java and Object-Oriented Programming. Experience in Finance is not necessary as long as the candidate is genuinely interested in learning the ropes of algorithmic trading. This is an opportunity to work with industry experts on how to set up the foundational coding infrastructure of a FinTech company.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the CTO on core infrastructure design, development, and testing, including exchange connectivity, order management and risk management.

• Work with the CTO on the foundations of a quant trading research platform, including trading research API, market data replay, and simulation.

Preferred skills:

• Java expert

• Comfortable with Git

• Comfortable working on a Linux environment

• Ability to work autonomously, and propose new solutions

• Knowledge of network communications (TCP/IP, HTTP, WS)

Bonus skills:

• Familiarity with AWS is a plus

• Financial knowledge is a plus

Commitment:

Part-time 20hours/week - (opportunity to switch to full-time after a trial period)
