Scope of Work for Data Analyst Consultant
About the Project: The World Bank is seeking a small group of data analyst consultants to help finalize a database of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in the Russian Federation that is being compiled as part of a wider initiative to examine the scope, performance, and impact of SOEs worldwide. Preliminary data collection and analysis has been completed for the Russian Federation but further manual verification is needed for several hundred entities with incomplete information.
Responsibilities: Candidates will be provided with an Excel list of legal entities including name, sector, location etc. For each entity, the consultant will be responsible for determining the ownership structure of the entity including the percentage shares owned by each. Consultants will utilize publicly available information from company websites, financial or statistical reporting, government disclosures, company registrars, or reliable secondary sources. The consultant will append the file with this ownership information and the source for the information. In many cases this information may not be available, in which case the consultant will document it as such.
Qualifications: Candidates should posses proven research/ data analytical skills as well as an understanding of basic business reporting and legal structures. Attention to detail, problem solving, and meticulous documentation of findings will be critical. Foreign language skills are not required.
Work modality: Consultants will work remotely on a part time basis. The number of hours required will depend on the final number of consultants working on the project but will likely be in the range of 75 to 100 hours for each consultant. The work should be completed within one month of the start date.
