Fachwerk filling
Today, a long-forgotten style - half-timbered - is being successfully used in construction. It was created at the beginning of the 15th century in Germany. A feature of this style is the supporting structure, consisting of pillars and straight inclined beams. The space between these two components is filled with some material. Erected houses in the half-timbered style look aesthetically pleasing and provide comfortable conditions.
The construction of houses in the half-timbered style is very popular among owners of suburban areas. Outwardly, such houses always look luxurious, ideally combine stone, wood and glass. The building has a long service life, while the construction does not take time.

The first stage in the construction of half-timbered houses, like all others, is, of course, laying the foundation. In this case, a reinforced monoblock foundation is used. Depth and other characteristics depend on the ground. Pine beams are needed to build a half-timbered house. The walls in such houses are not load-bearing; they separate the rooms.
Foundation requirements are not as stringent as in other houses, because the building frame itself is light and stable. The walls of a half-timbered house are connected with spikes, metal braces or plates. The frame is fixed to the foundation with anchor bolts, high-quality waterproofing is performed and the house is covered with expanded polystyrene below. The result is a lightweight, stable and reliable building that can be built in a short time.
In order for the house to meet all the requirements of its owners and provide a comfortable living environment, it is important to choose the right material for filling the walls. The following materials are most popular:
Energy-saving double-glazed windows - they are made of special emissive glass with argon filling. At first glance, it seems that they are very fragile, but in fact, such double-glazed windows are distinguished by a high level of strength and low thermal conductivity;
Cement particle board - in this case, wood chips are used with a small amount of chemical additives. This is a budget option, but it will not provide the required level of heat; it should also be noted that this is not the best choice for those who prefer environmentally friendly materials;
CLT panels are a material made by gluing transverse and longitudinal lamellas. The thickness of the panels is selected according to the requirements of the conditions in which the construction of the house is planned. This is an environmentally friendly material that also has an aesthetic appearance;
Panels with cork filler are made from wood, while a rather large layer of cork filler is embedded in the panels. The thickness of the panels depends on the minimum temperatures of the region where the house will stand. A feature of this material is aesthetics and environmental friendliness;
Basalt wool panels - they are made from rock basalt rocks. It is a budget option for cork panels and CLT panels.
It is better to decide which filling material to choose with specialists, who will take into account all the nuances, as well as the characteristics of the region.
It is not surprising that such houses are chosen for suburban areas, because they look harmoniously against the backdrop of beautiful landscapes. Half-timbered buildings are distinguished by a magnificent aesthetic appearance not only from the outside, but also from the inside. The advantages of such houses include the following:
Ease of construction, which simplifies the requirements for the foundation and significantly reduces the construction time;
Half-timbered houses are very durable, so they are suitable for glazing of any kind, you can safely make panoramic windows without using frame structures;
- a unique design that gives the building luxury and elegance;
- the use of environmentally friendly materials - timber;
- half-timbered houses do not have shrinkage.
It should also be noted that the houses in the half-timbered style are very bright inside, they are spacious and comfortable. But be careful, because the main disadvantage of such structures is the high risk of fire, so it is imperative to treat the materials with refractory substances to reduce the risk of fire.
As for the interior, in this case it all depends on the owner's imagination. Design style can be absolutely any - traditional minimalism. In such a European house, even a harmonious combination of different styles is possible. Often in half-timbered houses there is a high-tech or brick style. In Russia, they generally prefer natural wood.
